Positions in this function is responsible for the daily operation of the switchboard. Ensures that all incoming calls are directed to the correct departments. Coordinates changes in telephone equipment, numbers and location.

This position is full time, Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm Pacific Time Zone. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 904 7th Ave, Seattle, 98104.

We offer weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday – Friday. Training will be conducted onsite for 6 weeks before moving to remote.

If you are located in Greater Seattle, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. 

             

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Receives and directs all incoming calls to appropriate departments or staff
  • Initiates requests for repairs on equipment
  • Coordinates clinic telephone system with answering service
  • Responds to emergency calls according to established procedures
  • Communicates general clinic information
  • Organizes and efficiently handles switchboard material
  • Uses paging system according to procedure
  • Maintains information in a confidential manner
  • Performs related work as required

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • Ability to work full time, Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm Pacific Time Zone. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

             

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of switchboard experience, medical office OR clinic setting
  • Multitasking and typing skills
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology

                   

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within Greater Seattle
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $24.42 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
