Here at Optum, we are looking for a tech focused Programme Manager to come and join us on a permanent basis.

Imperative to success in this role, will be your ability to build trusted relationships with your peers, internal stakeholders, and our customers. You will work closely with our Head of Portfolio Delivery to ensure that prioritised workstreams align to strategic business objectives and commercial priorities.

What you’ll do
Ensuring that programmes are managed diligently and consistently in accordance with best practice, that defined governance standards are adhered to and data quality is maintained is key.
Collaboration and engagement with sponsors will form a significant part of your role, to define projects objectives and scope, we well as working closely with other departments across Optum to drive programme delivery. We will look to you as Programme Manager to build relationships with customers and support them from pilot to UAT.
Other key responsibilities and accountabilities will include;
- Provide leadership, oversight, and guidance to those within the programme to help them achieve their objectives
- Champion best practice ways of working, through adoption of delivery methodologies and internal processes
- Employ effective quality controls to ensure that risk, issues, assumptions, and dependencies are properly tracked and managed

Who you’ll be
You will be a Programme Manager who is able to demonstrate significant experience in managing technology projects within an Agile framework, and have an appreciation of the software development lifecycle.
You will pride yourself on your ability to build and maintain great working relationships that allow you to influence, advise and challenge appropriately to ensure the best outcome for the business and customer.
Being able to talk to us about your track record of managing and delivering programmes with multiple project teams and within a matrix management environment is essential.
Technical skills and experience we are looking for you to demonstrate include;
- Experience of using a variety of programme reporting project lifecycle management tools to monitor and report project progress
- Great understanding of agile methodologies
- Ability to work with and manage 3rd parties
- Exposure to working within a complex environment, with competing demands and tight deadlines
- Programme or Portfolio Management qualification e.g., MSP
