The Senior Data Analyst position supports management with interpretation, execution, and report of HEDIS Retrospective data for submission reporting of primary measures data as an effort to deliver a 4+ HEDIS/Star Performance rating with our Health Plans. Position works to conduct analysis, reviews, forecasting, trending, and presents information to management on system and data source capabilities for operational planning and business use case. Additionally, supports to produce innovative solutions driven by advanced analytics to provide predictive and prescriptive analytics to the leadership, to ensure minimal risk to HEDIS/Star ratings.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform business needs, documents requirements and translates needs into functional, nonfunctional and/or technical specifications
- Delivers requirements, performs analysis, and evaluates downstream business, systems, process, and/or organizational impacts
- Plans and assists team with oversight of testing processes and activities including defect identification and resolution
- Works with team to conduct required healthcare analytics to distinguish patterns and recognize trends, perform normalization operations and assure data quality through Code Review.
- Meets with team and analyzes data with build out of simple queries
- Works with team to analyzes charts and/or diagrams of the problem to be programmed and defines system requirements in terms of system capabilities
- Works with team to manage understanding and team knowledge of HEDIS/Star technical specifications Measure build out requirements in accordance to annual specifications
- Works with team to analyzes and trends HEDIS rates, identifies barriers to improve rates and collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve barriers
- Provides management with analysis and technical guidance for implementation of HEDIS/Star Specifications
- Stays current on all CMS, NCQA, and HEDIS/Star communications to align WellMed data submissions strategies to minimize risk to data submissions, audits, and overall scores.
- Develops or assists in the development of stakeholder dashboards, data visualizations, decisions aids and business case analysis
- Supports with planning work plans, time schedules, and project task items and schedules and assists with estimating needs for analysts, programmers, user personnel, consultants, equipment, and prepares routine project status reports
- Checks, validates and verifies assigned work directed performed by technical staff in order to achieve desired end-results for customer
- Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 4+ years of combined experience with analysis, development, and UAT
- 3+ years of experience in writing and developing requirements and performing system analysis; includes drafting of both Business & Functional Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in SQL, writing queries, and of major software systems implementation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or related field
- Masters degree in Computer Science or Health Administration related field required
- Knowledge of Health Care Industry and related business functions
- Knowledge of HEDIS Submission Reporting
- Advanced course of study in information technology, business or other field
- Experience with working in project management and project control methodologies
- Experience process re-engineering and best practice implementations
- Ability to analyze and document process and data flow
- Ability to clearly communicate ideas and solutions with both Business and Technical Teams
- Ability to effectively report up daily progress on assigned deliverables in a timely manner
- Ability to effectively work with both internal and external clients

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
