This position is responsible for leading and managing software definition, development, and delivery to support the operations arm of OptumRx’s fulfillment pharmacy division. The ideal candidate will be expected to serve as technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle from conception, architecture definition, and detailed design to scoping, implementation, testing to documentation, software promotion, and ongoing maintenance.

 

Office locations located in Chandler and Mesa AZ.  Candidate must live within a commutable distance from the Chandler/Mesa office. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Delivers complex systems to improve operational process by designing, developing, and installing software solutions
  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating data, problem definitions, requirements, and proposed solutions
  • Develops software solutions by studying information gaps, conferring with users, and studying systems flows, data utilization, and work processes
  • Investigates problem areas and inefficient processes
  • Follows the software development lifecycle
  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by authoring documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and clear code
  • Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
  • Improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures
  • Intakes, procures, and licenses software by obtaining required information from vendors, recommending purchases, and testing and approving products
  • Maintains data integrity by keeping information confidential and following industry and company standards
  • Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
  • Accomplishes engineering and organizational mission by completing related tasks as needed

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and/or Engineering degree with relevant experience.
  • Proficient with C#
  • Proficient with WPF applications using the MVVM design pattern
  • Proficient with ASP.NET applications using the MVC design pattern
  • Live or be willing to relocate to the Chandler/Mesa AZ area
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years in Software Engineering

 

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
