As an Executive Director, you will manage  Optum Behavioral Care, including oversight of the clinical, operational, and financial performance all locations and staff under the brand. This includes, but is not limited to, interviewing and hiring staff, creating a collaborative culture across all teams, monitoring the center’s performance, building/center operations, and fostering strong partnerships across other departments to ensure we are providing the best care for those we serve.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Clinical & Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of all locations, including care delivery, administrative functions and facility management. Maximizes financial and operational performance across key performance indicators; facilitates remediation plans if targets are missed
  • Team Leadership: Manages teams across all locations, including workforce management, hiring and staffing, performance management and talent development for all staff members. Inspire and motivate teams to achieve their best performance
  • Financial Management: Accountable for {brand} financial performance, including developing and managing monthly and yearly budgets in partnership with your financial partner and RVP
  • Community Outreach: Facilitate community outreach and local marketing to drive referrals and partnerships
  • Communication: Creates a collaborative culture for {brand]; facilitates meetings and discussions that ensure productive outcomes and team collaboration. Cascades and reinforces communications to ensure teams are informed of key initiatives and processes and other relevant updates
  • Change Leadership: Champion changes across the team by effectively with consistent communication, encourage feedback, celebrate success and address resistance
  • Best Practices: Collaborate with RVP to guide staff on protocols, practices, processes, duties, rules, regulations etc.
  • Quality Improvement: Proactively identifies, mitigates and manages risks associated with the center’s operations
  • Strategic Planning: Set goals related to the broader Optum Behavioral Care’s goals including clinical practice, staffing, policies and procedures. Partner with your RVP to develop and assist in the strategic long-range planning process
  • Enterprise Collaboration: Actively participates in Optum Behavioral Care leader and team meetings; supports broader priorities by participating in cross-functional work groups
  • Partnerships: Demonstrates cross-department collaboration by establishing relationships with key partners to ensure departments work together effectively

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed as an LCSW, LPC, LFMT or Clinical Psychologist (independently licensed) in state of practice 
  • 5+ years of experience leading, managing, and driving change in a highly regulated environment
  • 5+ years of experience managing teams, and prioritizing many competing priorities to ensure quality, on-time delivery, and appropriate team focus
  • 3+ years of experience in behavioral healthcare
  • Experience accomplishing work through others and inspiring others through times of ambiguity
  • Ability to work in an office-based position in Rancho Cucamonga, CA location
  • Ability to travel 20% to our Pasadena office

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed Psychologist
  • Experience with psychological testing preferable
  • Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation – Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS (or other EHRs)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with equal effectiveness

 

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
