The Clinical Decision Support team sits within the Innovation pillar of OI. Our mission is bring products to market for both payers and providers that drive high quality care for patients. The goal of launching multiple new products in 2025 for both payers and providers is to enable faster and more accurate prior authorization processes.

This product, Point of Care Assist, is part of the Clinical Decision Support portfolio. 

Point of Care Assist adds real-time benefit information to your patients’ existing electronic medical record (EMR) including medical, labs, prior authorization, eligibility and cost transparency. This can help make it easier for you to understand what patients need at the point of care, saving you time and resources.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders to align vision and business objectives 
  • Drive requirements and feature definition for all aspects of the product. Ensure clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria 
  • Achieve consensus on strategies, requirements, and roadmap 
  • Work with engineering teams from initiation through execution 
  • Identify potential risks, proactively develop mitigation plans, resolve conflicts, and ensure stakeholder alignment 
  • Translate technical terms and concepts to non-technical stakeholders, represent technical challenges and opportunities to external and internal stakeholders, leverage insights to adjust timelines and resource allocation 
  • Lead entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch and post-launch optimization, ensuring successful delivery and adoption 
  • Hold self accountable for meeting high performance standards that drive key measurable results 
  • Define and track KPIs to measure product success

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • Experience operating in an agile development environment 
  • Solid understanding of provider and payer workflow for prior authorization and referrals
  • Familiarity with electronic health records, and experience with Rally, Aha! and the Accelerate framework
  • Proven ability to partner successfully with engineering to drive new product development, working with a wide variety of cross-functional stakeholders, delivering results in complex areas in fast timeframes 
  • Proven solid technical acumen with the ability to understand complex systems and translate business goals into technical requirements 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of healthcare experience 
  • Knowledge and experience with FHIR resources and implementations
  • Working knowledge of Optum & UnitedHealth Group  
  • Understanding of the healthcare ecosystem including payers, providers and regulatory agencies 
  • Demonstrated strength making data-driven decisions, including identifying what data is needed to make decisions 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity; bias for action 
  • Demonstrated solid communication and interpersonal skills

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
