In this role, you will support the national radiology service line strategy.
The Associate Director of Diagnostic Imaging Services’ primary objective is to support the national diagnostic imaging strategic goals. These goals include increasing performance and market share for existing operations and expanding the service line to areas nationally. The Associate Director will assess and support all OptumCare markets with a national perspective by optimizing operational performance of existing assets, identifying development and growth opportunities, creating a clear and concise value story, and advancing all aspects of the quadruple aim. This position will primarily focus on OptumCare and will involve close collaboration with leaders and operators at the national and market levels of all OptumCare entities. Where appropriate, partnerships with the broader Optum and UnitedHealthcare organizations will be leveraged to drive innovation and opportunity for greater UnitedHealth Group.
This role, along with supporting partners and team members, functions as a strategic resource to OptumCare, helping to formulate opportunities, accelerate execution, and serve as a centralized source of knowledge and best practices on the management and operational performance of the diagnostic imaging service line. The Associate Director actively identifies and leads key opportunities that result in growth, revenue generation, and product integration.

Primary Responsibilities:
Strategy and Growth:
- Develop understanding of business-level goals / metrics at the local and national level, focused on maximizing service line performance
- Develop data solutions that can directly support the business case and ongoing performance tracking for local market execution
- Create and execute on strategic roadmaps that may include internal and external partnerships across the enterprise
- Communication/Relationship Management
- Collaborate with internal market and external partners – build long-lasting transparent and trusting relationships
- Create strong partnerships across all levels of the organization to obtain needed information and support across teams to identify potential opportunities and drive growth
- Present complex information/insights in a simple and consumable format
Operational Effectiveness:
- Develop financial models and business cases that effectively outline performance opportunities
- Collaborate with applicable stakeholders to obtain appropriate market information/data (e.g., marketing, sales, health plan partners, channels, shared services)
- Articulate clear and concise information on a market specific data solution supporting the business opportunity
- Assist in the implementation and execution of programs and strategies
- Monitor pilots and tests including performance tracking to support overall project management of implementation

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in healthcare operations management, diagnostic imaging management or healthcare finance
- 3+ years communicating and presenting to executive and senior level leaders
- Experience creating and executing on multi-dimensional strategies
- Knowledge of managed care environments and modern health care management in an integrated health care delivery system
- Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
- Ability to travel nationally up to 25% based on business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare operations experience in ancillary services
- Experience building financial analyses and supporting business cases (Proforma, CBA, P&L statement, etc.)
- Interpersonal skills, including positive assertiveness, professional communication, relationship building and ability to influence without authority
- Strategic thinker, able to develop solutions to healthcare’s most complex challenges and successfully implement those solutions in a cross-functional, diverse environment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a cross functional team
- Proven ability to effect change and meet business goals, monitor progress, and take corrective actions when necessary
- Ability to guide and utilize advanced analytics, including clinical and claims data, to drive and optimize clinical operations picture

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
