Optum is seeking a driven leader to fill the role of Warehouse Operations Supervisor at a 300K sq. ft. distribution center located in Etna, OH. This role will work with internal and external customers to enable operations processes within the distribution center to ensure timely completion of all warehouse tasks.

This position provides support to our specialty distribution center by aligning people and process to optimize the value of the supply chain. This role will be responsible for utilizing, maintaining, and recommending improvements within the warehouse management system (SAP EWM). As a people leader, this role will be essential at driving the overall culture of safety, quality, and process improvement within a team of warehouse team members.

We are creating a business that is designed to specifically serve the unique needs of patient populations using Specialty Pharmacies and supports the opportunity for expansion into additional therapies, which require enhanced services and new capabilities over traditional specialty distributors.

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm EST (must be flexible to work overtime as necessary to support business needs, to include on-call weekends)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply, and manufacturing planning
  • With responsibility for a shift, the Supervisor continually monitors efficiency and quality metrics, assigns work, and provides coaching to supervised staff, and addresses a variety of operational issues
  • Supervising the daily work assignments and performance of Team Leads and Associates
  • Tracking efficiency and productivity metrics to determine which tasks are behind- and ahead-of-schedule, and providing firsthand guidance to Associates to ensure tasks are completed correctly and safely
  • Tracking employee attendance and ensures necessary employee headcount to achieve objectives
  • Regularly reporting on team performance to leadership
  • Promptly and thoroughly document issues and communicate the root cause and resolution to internal stakeholders, as necessary
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to improve operations and mitigate risks within supervised team and broader warehouse operations
  • Conducting performance evaluations and provide one-on-one feedback to encourage associates’ development, including creating performance improvement plans for staff and administers discipline when necessary
  • Participating in the interviewing and selection of new Associates and provide trainings during employee onboarding
  • Provides input into succession planning process for own work area
  • Aligns individual goals for self and others with work area/functional goals
  • Works within budgetary/ financial objectives set by manager, applying knowledge of profit drivers to work processes within own area
  • Leverages customer knowledge to develop alternative solutions and shares key learnings with others
  • Resolves day-to-day or routine problems using defined processes

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience working with supply chain operations, transportation management systems or associated technologies (RF devices)
  • 1+ years of prior leadership experience
  •  Intermediate level of proficiency using Supply Chain Management through TMS and WMS
  • Ability to work overtime and cover additional shifts as needed (including Night/Weekend coverage)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating material handling equipment
  • ERP/SAP warehouse management experience with EWM

The salary range for this role is $59,500 to $116,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
