As a Product Manager within Optum’s Senior Community Care (SCC) business, you will be vital to our success in supporting solutions to support Medicare Advantage special needs members with a goal to develop services and benefits that allow for seniors to better age in place.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for leading product development initiatives tailored specifically towards seniors enrolled in the UHC Nursing Home Plan or UHC Care Advantage Plan. This includes development of the product strategy and design, implementation and deployment of new or revised solutions, and evaluation of performance. You will be responsible for understanding the senior population and innovating creative solutions that meet their needs.

 

You will partner with cross-functional teams across the organization to accomplish this work educating on business direction and influencing without authority. You will interface with Senior Housing Operators, clients, vendors, and leadership in both working relationships as well as performance reviews. You will assist in development of cost benefit analysis to ensure the cost benefit of your product designs yield favorable outcomes for the business and client.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of new product initiatives and clinical model features redesigns, as well as enhancing existing capabilities, from ideation to launch to post-launch performance evaluation
  • Serve as primary product representative for UHC Care Advantage plan
  • Develop and drive strategy partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver solutions
  • Conduct industry research to inform value proposition and product design to meet member and client needs 
  • Participate in translating strategic priorities into actionable development plans including requirements and processes 
  • Partner with Marketing to build strategies and develop content to promote SCC health plans, and drive national SCC conference strategy and partnerships
  • Manage vendor and client relationships serving as the leader for collaboration, design, execution, and performance management 
  • Support identification of performance management strategies including goals and targets using results to make recommendations on product changes 
  • Lead cross-segment projects and initiatives that require problem solving, relationship building, influencing, and analyzing 
  • Utilize influencing skills to build a collaborative culture and foster relationships with business unit leaders and strategic partners
  • Present proposals and business recommendations to senior leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Product Management / Product Development experience with ability to deliver results in a complex, matrixed environment
  • Experience coordinating priorities, executing development, and driving progress in a large, diverse organization
  • Ability to analyze data for evaluation of program effectiveness
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Senior Living / Healthcare industry experience
  • Internal knowledge of enterprise lines of business and clinical, quality, and product team functionality
  • Experience with business case development & financial modeling 
  • Client and executive presentation & leadership experience
  • Solid planning and problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence others
  • Solid communication skills, including written, spoken, and presentation communications
  • Motivated, self-directed individual with ability to drive detailed solutions to completion with minimal oversight

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
