The leader of this team should have an expert understanding of data engineering, business intelligence, web development. This key position will not only lead the team of IT professionals but is a key interface with the Optum San Diego leadership team and at times customer. This leader will be involved in strategic planning for database, application and business process change; they will interface with direct reports as well as other teams within the high matrixed organization to accomplish these tasks.
In addition, they should be customer-facing, consulting with the customer on technical solutions, problems, or processes that need one or more of the expertise of the overall team. The goal of working with the customer is to help them solve problems, envision solutions, and position Optum Technology Team in a place where organic growth and strengthening of the contractual obligations occurs.

Often this involves an Agile method, considering cost, development time, number of resources, corporate challenges, ongoing maintenance, security considerations, customer perception, and risk.

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of programming experience with SQL
- 3+ years of experience working in full stack web development
- 3+ years of experience with Git as Source Control or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience working with data engineering and/or business intelligence
- 2+ years of experience as a people leader or mentoring individuals
- 2+ years of experience using the Agile Software Development Lifecycle methodology
- 1+ years of Python experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of behavioral health systems of care experience
- 2+ years of experience with healthcare technology and reporting
- 2+ years of experience with .NET (Forms, MVC, and/or Core)
- 2+ years of experience with data warehousing
- 1+ years of experience with Medicaid and public funded programs
- 1+ years of experience with Power BI
- 1+ years of experience with Azure Devops
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
