The Healthcare Economics Analyst will primarily be responsible for statistical evaluations of efforts to improve member health and provide ongoing analytical support for these programs. As a subject matter expert, the Healthcare Economics Analyst will creatively support data management and track key performance metrics. They will proactively and independently assess new opportunities to advance Medicare Advantage member healthcare and investigate new business areas of interest.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Use data to descriptively tell a story about Medicare populations by leveraging claims
- Develop comprehensive analytical plans to measure initiatives intended to reduce medical costs for complex health populations
- Use SAS to complete retrospective statistical studies to evaluate clinical program performance
- Use SQL to refine and join together claims data into actionable datasets
- Calculate data driven health metrics (i.e. prevalence, medical cost PMPMs, healthcare utilization, etc.) to inform ongoing clinical program performance and understand trends over time
- Construct polished and dynamic MS Excel models that visually display data in an easy to interpret way
- Interpret healthcare metrics to develop key insights for business decisions
- Perform ad hoc analyses to investigate newly trending areas of the Medicare business
- Provide ongoing and meaningful communications to requestors on project status, results, and conclusions from analyses

Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years analytical experience in healthcare economics, program evaluation, or related discipline utilizing highly complex healthcare data
- Experience completing statistical methods such as multivariate regression, tests of significance, etc.
- Experience working with medical claims data
- Proficiency in either SQL to create data tables or SAS to conduct statistical analysis
- Proficiency working with formulas, pivots, calculations, graphs, etc. in MS Excel
- Proven solid problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree, such as an MPH or MS
- Experience with Medicare Advantage
- Experience presenting analytical summaries to key stakeholders
- Proven solid interpersonal skills and ability to interact collaboratively with internal customers across multiple departments and business segments
- Proven solid verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to draw meaningful and actionable conclusions from analyses

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
