As a Business Analyst for the Arkansas AME DSS Project, you will be responsible for understanding and analyzing all aspects of contractually required services and deliverables for the Federal Reporting aspects of the project. You will be a business specialist and subject matter expert, analyzing and solutioning requirements with colleagues and business clients. You will be responsible for the quality assurance of data warehouse components of the solution.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with end users/customers to understand and further develop requirements
  • Recognize, gather, correlate, analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and alternatives; and make appropriate recommendations 
  • Present information in a variety of formats (charts, graphs, tables) to help leadership and stakeholders understand requirements and issues that surface
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, using a range of tools, including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Visio
  • Partner with leadership and customers to track and understand defects; Assume accountability and/or ownership to work defects through to resolution 
  • Work closely with end users and developers to translate business requirements into test plans; work with resources to investigate and resolve issues
  • Provide key input into project planning, estimation, and task prioritization 
  • Ability to explain technical issues in words the customer will understand  
  • Identify and work closely with the other team members to complete the reporting and validation tasks
  • Work with internal teams and other vendors to collect all data required for reporting and data management. Update source to target mapping documents for changes
  • Help to crosswalk the State valid values to CMS valid values
  • Ensure all reports are formatted per CMS guidelines and sent to client as needed
  • Prepare QA review documentation in support of any CMS reporting changes and T-MSIS changes and present it to client
  • Complete monthly Medicaid claim reviews to identify any data anomalies or changes and report them for next steps
  • Attend state meetings to review any systematic changes that might have impact on federal reports and assist with next steps after the impact analysis is done
  • Prepare meeting notes and emails about all updates to ensure open communication with Leadership team

Years of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience working as healthcare BA
  • 3+ years of experience analyzing data and running SQL queries

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Medicaid Management Information Systems experience 
  • Data analysis experience using Cognos or Power BI
  • Knowledge of data quality and data management concepts
  • Knowledge of state federal reporting requirements for Centers for Medicaid services (CMS)
  • Solid working knowledge of change management and incident management procedures, best practices, and project management experience
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint 
  • Proven excellent problem-solving skills, including managing multiple priorities, and researching conflicting and/or inaccurate data

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
