We are currently recruiting for an Employee Relations Analyst to join our team.
The Employee Relations Analyst will provide day-to-day support to managers and People Team on a variety of employee relations issues. In addition to handling basic ER issues regarding attendance, performance and policy interpretation, this position will staff the Tier 2 ER phone queue 4.5 hours/day, doing intake of cases for managing or escalation to Senior ER Analysts and Case Managers.
If you are located in MST or PST time zone, you’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * as you take on some tough challenges. We prefer a candidate in PST as the schedule will be 1030am -7pm CST
Primary Responsibilities:
- Effectively and efficiently handle 4 hours/per day of incoming calls from People Team, Managers, and ‘One Breath’ cases
- Complete intake for all Employee Relations case types to either manage/escalate appropriately to Sr. Employee Relations Analysts and ER Case Managers
- Manage own caseload, providing coaching and consultation to managers on issues involving non-exempt employees, including basic attendance, performance, corrective action, and policy interpretation cases
- Intake, manage and/or appropriately escalate emergency ‘One Breath’ issues
- Other project work as it applies, i.e. severance documents, etc.

Required Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in employee relations, human resources and/or within Employee Center
- Intermediate experience with Excel and Word
- Availability to work 1030am -7pm CST
- Proven to work or is currently working as a contractor placed at UHG or one of its subsidiaries or affiliates
- Live within MST or PST time zones
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within the Employee Center
- PeopleSoft or other case management database experience
- Knowledge of State and Federal employment law; working knowledge in ADA, FLSA, EEO
- Proven history of consulting and able to work independently
- Proven problem solving and negotiating skills
- Proven to be independent, analytical decision-making based on knowledge and thorough interpretation of policy/practice
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proven ability to work independently while working within guidelines and established protocols
- Proven accurate and timely analysis of a variety of data to meet deadlines and commitments
- Demonstrate solid verbal and written communication/documentation skills

The salary range for this role is $59,500 to $116,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
