We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Data Analyst to join our team – United Healthcare E&I Affordability. In this role, you will lead data-driven initiatives, design and implement robust analytical solutions, and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. You will collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders, data engineers, and product teams to translate complex data into clear business value. You will make a difference in the field of healthcare by making healthcare more affordable.

ScheduleFull-time position with standard working hours of Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Learn the complexities of the US Healthcare system 
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, ideation teams and data sciences teams to refine data requirement and roadmaps 
  • Identify trends and opportunities for affordability through analysis of complex datasets 
  • Validate data pipelines and provide design inputs to build scalable data and analytics processes and data flows 
  • Build your own data pipeline when required 
  • Build visualizations and deliver data insights to leadership 
  • Leverage the power of AI to analyze complex datasets and feed predictive models 
  • Build predictive models where necessary 
  • Use API access to AI models and build robust software solutions

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in discipline with analytical focus (analytics, mathematics, statistics, engineering etc.) 
  • Proven experience in data analysis, preferably in a healthcare or managed care setting
  • Ability to build data visualizations in at least one data platform (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Ability to understand and explain complex data models
  • Ability to write, understand and explain complex queries (SQL)
  • Ability to transform big data (PySpark or Snowpark preferred)
  • Ability to write efficient programs (Python preferred) and sound software engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with at least one RDBMS (Snowflake preferred)
  • Experience using and configuring version control and CI-CD processes (Git preferred)

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with machine learning or predictive modeling in healthcare
  • Building real world AI powered applications
  • Experience in data engineering
  • Tuning queries for performance
  • Experience building applications with Streamlit
  • Experience with at least one data workflow orchestration tool (ADF or Airflow preferred)
  • Experience with a cloud-based data analytics platform (Azure Databricks preferred)
