Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver artifacts that set high engineering excellence standards across organization
• Develop platform, services, and architecture from design to implementation
• Continuously apply research and innovation to drive value through engineering excellence
• Collaborate with our cross-functional teams consisting of Business, product managers, and engineers in an agile, fast-paced environment
• Collaborate across the organization, providing software engineering solutions, emerging technology POCs, Architectural blueprints. 
• Manage to an operating plan with a focus on investment optimization and continuous improvement of total cost of ownership across all technology services
• Work with a cross-functional set of business, technology, and external research to identify enterprise level strategic solutions to complex business challenges and opportunities.
• Strategy Map development – Current State, Future state and a map with paths from current to future across multiple product horizons
• Positioning value with business stakeholders – differentiating features and capabilities that provide demonstrable benefit
• Network development based on defined points of collaboration, based on fundamental understanding of UHC and Optum business models and those associated key stakeholders
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

• Solid technical leadership with experience building software components
• Hands on experience with building cloud native applications, microservices architecture at scale
• Experience working with US stakeholders, and working in matrix organizations
• Experience working with diverse technologies: Java, Public Cloud (Azure), Cloud (Docker, Microservices/SpringBoot), RDBMS (MySQL) + nosql (Cassandra, MongoDB, Elastic), APIs (REST, Graph QL), API gateways (Kong etc.), Data Streaming (Kafka), Visualization (Grafana, Kibana), ELK stack (Elastic, Logstash, and Kibana); API Gateway, Gen AI, AI/ML
• Background in building platforms, products in large, complex & distributed enterprise environments
• Ability to develop business capability architectures, tradeoffs and sensitivity points
