Primary Responsibilities: 

Transportation Coordinator is responsible for the full range of provider relations and service interactions between UnitedHealth Group and transportation subcontractor.  You will design and implement programs to build and nurture positive relationships between the health plan and transportation providers/brokers. This includes directing and implementing strategies relating to the development and management of a transportation provider network, identifying gaps in quality, remediating operational shortfalls, researching and remediating daily as well as ongoing issues.  The Transportation Coordinator will also assist the Vendor Oversight Manager where necessary in the oversight of program management functions related to transportation, including but not limited to: 

  • Program compliance 
  • Implementation of program policies, procedures and protocols that align with State and Federal requirements
  • Gain a full understanding of the State’s NEMT requirements through review of the contract
  • Ensuring service level and utilization standards are met
  • Meeting performance member experience standards
  • Participate in consumer complaint resolution processes
  • Oversee daily and ongoing transportation issues and monitor grievances and drive remediation strategies for improvement opportunities and timelines
  • Assist in the education of internal staff on the program requirements and established protocols  
  • Help with responses to state complaints and incident reports
  • Implement correct action plans and drive remediation processes with vendor
  • Maintain reporting and ongoing auditing of processes
  • Facilitate Transportation JOCs and regular touch points to track trends, identify issues, and drive remediation strategies

Required Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of vendor management or support experience 
  • 2+ years of Medicaid and/or Medicare experience 
  • 2+ years of experience managing multiple projects 
  • Understanding of Medicaid and Medicare contracting process, including downstream agreements 
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and monitor key performance indicators 
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence course of action when other teams are directly accountable for outcomes 
  • Resident of Michigan 
  • Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
  • Willing or ability to travel up to 25% 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience interacting with state regulators and vendor leadership
  • Experience with Compliance Audits 
  • Knowledge on advanced reporting techniques (SQL, PowerBI, etc.) 
  • Proven excellent organizational and planning skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $28.27 to $50.48 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
