Here at Optum we have an opportunity for an Account Manager to join our Patient Access commercial team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
As an Account Executive, you’ll play a key role in expanding our Partner Affiliate service—connecting patients with private healthcare providers through our Patient Access platform, which supports over 8 million registered users across the UK.
This is a dynamic role that blends business development with account management. You’ll be responsible for identifying new opportunities, onboarding new partners, and nurturing existing relationships to grow revenue and improve patient access to care.
If you are located in the UK, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.
What you’ll do:
You’ll lead the full sales cycle—from outreach and product demonstrations to negotiation and closing—while working closely with internal teams across product, marketing, clinical, and implementation to ensure a seamless experience for our partners. You’ll also use data and insights to monitor trends, manage risk, and adapt your approach to meet business goals.
You will work with existing and future customers and have full accountability for their customer satisfaction. Whilst managing your own customer portfolio, you will build and maintain credible relationships to provide a seamless sales experience.
Collaboration is key at Optum; not only will you work with our external customers, but also work with internal teams to identify, scope, and progress new ideas and growth opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Keep the sales forecast for your accounts accurate and up to date and attend sales forecast reviews as required

- Execute the sales process from qualification through to close, to include demonstrations (where required), negotiation, orders, and contract paperwork
- Calling prospects to identify new business opportunities and contacts and to generate interest in products and services
You will be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in.

- Business development and/or account management experience
