The SafeTrip Customer Service Representative handles incoming phone calls and monitors an email inbox of incoming questions from current and prospective SafeTrip policy holders to answer any questions they may have about our travel insurance options.
This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 11:00 am – 8:00 pm EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer weeks of on-the-job training, virtual side by side with current team member. Duration is dependent on needs of individual candidate. Training will be discussed further during interview process. The hours during training will be any 8-hour shift between 8:00 am – 8:00 pm EST, Monday – Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls from members inquiring to purchase travel insurance products
- Comprehend and communicate insurance language, policy details, and exclusions
- Convert caller inquiries into SafeTrip sales
- Answer up to 80 incoming calls a day
- Loading new member or group data into the enrollment database & update the database with changes
- Manage multiple email inboxes and responding to member eligibility or group questions & verify enrollment status
- Reconcile eligibility discrepancies, analyzing transactional data & submitting retroactive eligibility change
- Control inventory of member and group transactions
- Work frequently with client management team and brokers to complete group enrollments
- Work individually or in a team setting

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 3+ years of customer service experience OR consumer sales
- 2+ years of experience in an office environment
- Property & Casualty Producer Insurance and Life & Health Insurance license OR the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment

Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
- Ability to work 40 hours per week within the operating hours of the site 11:00 am – 8:00 pm EST from Monday – Friday including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need.
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Physical and Work Environment:
- Critical thinking, frequent speaking, active listening using a headset, computer skills, handling other objects, long periods of sitting and or standing at desk

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $20.00 – $35.72 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
