This role focuses on enhancing and supporting the sales process through pipeline and prospect development, gathering and positioning of competitive intelligence, RFP strategy / support / response enhancement, and finalist support. This position involves close collaboration with sales and marketing teams to translate business development strategies into actionable initiatives, market research efforts, and sales activities.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • RFP strategy/support/response enhancement – more ingrained in every live deal. RFP mining for differentiating solutions and identifying challenging areas
    • Areas where we can shine – with focused solutions
    • Areas that are challenging – with focused solutions
    • Areas to include content that isn’t requested
    • Final review and enhancement of all responses
    • Strategic writing and creation of new responses
    • Track and leverage new strategic responses for future use
  • Provide finalist support by developing tailored content and messaging strategies, collaborating closely with the salesperson, and ensuring consistency from the RFP response through to the finalist presentation
  • Provide support across the Optum Rx sales organization
  • Consultant-house specific playbook management
  • Line of business-specific messaging
  • Arranging Cross-Optum opportunities for insertion into RFP’s
  • NBEA support as needed
  • Partner with strategic sales consultants to coordinate best in class strategic positioning
  • Can manage peaks and valleys of the sales cycle
  • Read entire RFP and highlight key strategic differentiators
  • Develop the initial draft of a strategy document and maintain it through subsequent iterations, ensuring alignment with business goals and stakeholder input.
  • Understanding of historical deals – tracking exceptions or unique items. Understanding proposal responses, where did we offer what and when
  • Analytics pipeline support – extracting data insights to inform decisions
  • Participate on Exceptions calls, BAFO calls, and formulate a point of view 
  • Actively participate in sales calls through shadowing, stepping in as needed to support the team and deepen understanding of the sales role, process, and strategies.

Required Qualifications: 

  • PBM Experience 
  • Project management experience and ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience managing projects, deliverables and collaborating with stakeholders
  • Experience operating within a matrix environment, across the broader organization to drive collaboration and strategy
  • Proven solid written and oral communication skills
  • Willing or ability to travel up to 10%

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy technician or clinical experience
  • Sales Support experience
  • Understanding of PBM bid process 
  • Understanding & formulating strategies around customer experience 
  • Understanding of CRM database
  • Understanding of PBM financials

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
