Primary Responsibilities:
- Independently, or in partnership with business leaders / Capability Directors, deliver capability spanning business use cases, features and user stories – Responsible for product lifecycle from planning through release, includes intake, opportunity identification, solution ideation, product build, operational readiness, launch and post launch performance management and adoption. Often works with multiple partners throughout the product lifecycle
- Aligns organization’s development team and end users, responsible for identifying & determining the features of a product prior to its release, and where appropriate the user story level. Builds relationships with customers to deeply understand their needs, infuses Voice of Customer throughout the product lifecycle. Partners with key subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify value add enhancements to existing capabilities
- Partners with Business & Capability leads (Director, VP levels) to prioritize across customer experience, business requirements, technical capabilities, costs, and operational factors
- Ensures delivery of business value by identifying the value & scope of agreed upon work, managing true north/OKR metrics, and establishes a backlog of ideas/features that will result in agreed upon value. Ensures features and user stories are directly linked to business goals (e.g. OKRs, KPIs)
- Participates in technology evaluation and selection across the capability, acting as the owner of business requirements while ensuring the right technical tools are brought forward that align with UHG’s enterprise technology strategy
- Understands capability P&L. Leverages agreed upon CBA to ensure each release / feature meets established ROI and Experience criteria
- Making sure that there are enough features & user stories in a state of “ready” in the backlog at all times. Provides a clear description and outline of product features and user stories for easy comprehension by the development team. Partners closely with the development team to manage against an agile release strategy, setting deadlines for product development as well as release date for products where appropriate. Participates, conducts, and/or approves user acceptance testing as needed
- Participates and occasionally leads capability planning activities (e.g. PI Planning, PMC, Sprint Planning) to ensure development team is prepared for upcoming work. Ensures Sprint
- Reviews/Demos are conducted effectively on behalf of senior capability leaders as well as business customers who are leveraging the product. Participates in scrum meetings, often daily, to give feedback on sprint achievement, as well as to set sprint goals and relay new user stories
- Maintains customer feedback loop with stakeholders and SMEs concerning product release and customer opinion
- Negotiates win-win solutions across teams and lines of business (cross application / cross portfolio)
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in working on an Agile software development project(s) and/or equivalent experience tracking, planning, or working on software development projects
- Intermediate Level Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, PowerPoint, Co-Pilot)
- Proven ability to be the front face with the customer, while representing multiple technical capabilities that could apply to business needs
- Proven ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely to leadership (Director, and VP where appropriate) and technical teams
- Proven ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities and projects
- Proven ability to define strategic and tactical direction
- Proven ability to identify, understand, and drive resolution of complex critical issues
- Proven ability to think creatively to solve complex problems
- Proven ability to work with individuals with high technical acumen (e.g. development teams, architects)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Agile Product Manager Certification
- Agile Scrum Master Certification
- 5+ years of experience in project/program leadership
- Health care experience
- Experience in a large matrix environment
- Experience with training content creation
- Experience with CA Agile (formerly known as Rally), Aha, or equivalent agile deployment technology
- Experience with data quality, stewardship, and governance
- Experience building process flows and/or architecture design diagrams
- Experience with managed business rules, predictive data models, and / or machine learning capabilities
- WalkMe knowledge; applying WalkMe to solve enterprise problems
