The Government Liaison serves as the primary liaison between the health plan and state regulatory agencies. This role is responsible for managing contractual obligations, regulatory deliverables, and fostering solid relationships with government entities. The Government Liaison ensures compliance with evolving healthcare regulations, leads cross-functional collaboration to support operational readiness, and drives strategic initiatives to enhance regulatory performance and alignment.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for state departments regarding contractual and operational issues, including deliverables and official correspondence
- Project manage state-led meetings, ensuring appropriate preparation, participation, and follow-up
- Interface with internal stakeholders and regulators on matters requiring notification, coordination, or resolution
- Oversee the development, review, and regulatory approval of customer-facing documents
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of regulatory reports, including quality assurance reviews for select submissions
- Review, refer, and respond to regulatory and legislative concerns or complaints
- Research and provide guidance and training on contractual deliverable requirements to internal teams
- Monitor and interpret current, proposed, and new state regulations and guidelines; disseminate updates and facilitate internal discussions with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure accurate interpretation and ownership
- Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with state and federal government officials and agencies
- Track legislative and regulatory developments impacting healthcare policy and operations
- Coordinate responses to government inquiries, audits, and compliance reviews
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., compliance, legal, clinical) to ensure alignment with government regulations and initiatives
- Prepare reports for health plan leadership on contract management and regulator engagement
- Support the development and execution of strategies to improve performance in government relations, deliverables, and compliance
- Organize and support site visits, roundtables, and public forums involving state agency officials and healthcare leaders
- Provide leadership coverage for regulator-organized in-person meetings across the state, as needed

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in health plan operations, regulatory affairs, or government relations
- 3+ years of experience working directly with Medicaid or Medicare programs
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience managing regulatory deliverables and working with state or federal agencies
- 3+ years of solid project management, organizational, and communication skills
- 3+ years of experience and ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and contractual requirements
- 3+ years of Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive consensus
Preferred Qualification:
- Familiarity with legislative processes and healthcare policy development

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
