As a Sr. Marketing Manager, you’ll be responsible for understanding market and customer insights, developing strategies, tactical plans, thought leadership content and go-to-market materials supporting Pharmacy for UnitedHealthcare E&I. These activities will ultimately deliver relevant, meaningful differentiation and spark insight-centered conversations that create brand loyalty and drive growth for the business. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Marketing supporting UnitedHealthcare Pharmacy on the Optum Rx Growth and Retention team.

 

The pharmacy offering for UnitedHealthcare E&I markets has differentiated itself through integrated models that include marketing to help our sales and client management teams deliver unique products. This position provides B2B strategy and marketing support for these key selling partners.

 

You will be focused on creating market positioning, supporting value story development, various client communications, sales enablement tools and resources for field teams, along with other go-to-market strategies designed to grow business.

 

This position follows a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serves as a strategic marketing advisor, guiding the development of sales enablement tools, thought leadership initiatives, and product support strategies
  • Strategic thinking to develop value story content and positioning to help differentiate our integrated solution for individual clients
  • Acts as a collaborative partner, engaging with internal stakeholders at various levels
  • Initiates and leads development of marketing solutions to drive growth and support shared goals
  • Communicates with various stakeholders and acts as primary marketing contact to key products and initiatives

 

In addition to field partnerships, this position will work closely with internal contacts of varying levels across both Optum Rx and UnitedHealthcare.  These include the Optum Rx Growth and Retention Marketing Team, Product, Clinical, Creative Services as well as various UnitedHealthcare partners.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Become a marketing expert in understanding the products, audiences and key organizations
  • Assesses and interprets sales and client management needs; develop and execute messaging, slides, and marketing materials that encourage decisions toward integrated pharmacy
  • Is a responsive partner to our internal customers
  • Able to work collaboratively with various areas to update existing collateral, develop new collateral, and support custom communications as needed
  • Initiate and lead development of materials or communications; educate field teams on programs and materials, ensuring they can communicate effectively in-market
  • Work with internal creative teams and vendors to execute innovative solutions that stimulate growth and support sell-through goals

Competencies:

  • Solid project management skills to manage multiple deliverables against tight timelines, and be comfortable wearing multiple hats on a small, nimble Marketing team
  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to execute on multiple projects and effectively establish priorities
  • Able to deliver results on multiple initiatives while working in a matrixed organization
  • Ability to influence a wide range of cross-functional teams without formal authority 
  • Ability to be flexible and work independently
  • Ability to distill complex ideas into easy-to-digest messages and designs

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, sales/client management messaging support, preferably B2B-focused
  • Experience executing successful digital campaigns (email, web or content marketing)
  • Proficiency in the MS office suite of Products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Intermediate to advanced level of experience creating MS Power Point Presentations

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of project management marketing tools e.g. Workfront
  • Marketing project management experience
  • Healthcare and/or PBM experience
  • Self-starter and team player

 

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
