The Marketing Director, Community and State, will lead the team responsible for the development and execution of B2B influence marketing strategies targeting state policymakers and influencers to optimize UHC’s reputation and thought leadership. This role is crucial in driving influence, shaping reputation and growing C&S impact with new and existing states, policymakers and community partners.
This position follows a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement national and local B2B influence content and campaigns that effectively target state policymakers and influencers, supporting C&S business objectives and advancing C&S brand leadership
- Manage and evolve the C&S audience strategy, value story and key proof points in partnership with cross-functional leaders
- Oversee marketing plans and content strategy for B2B audience, leveraging key audience insights, competitive intel and business intelligence
- Direct the creation of impactful omni-channel content, including campaigns, whitepapers, videos, website content, newsletters, and collateral for major industry conferences
- Guide our event and sponsorship plan as a platform to showcase UHC expertise and improve brand leadership in the Medicaid category, while also attending and representing the UHC C&S business
- Lead the UHCCS.com content strategy and partner to advance the design and performance to advance the business
- Create and maintain the C&S content calendar and create synergies with broader UHG and UHC marketing and communications teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare products and programs for target audiences, guiding naming, consistent messaging and value propositions as appropriate
- Report on impact of B2B marketing against business objectives
- Model marketing best practices and data-driven approaches, leveraging insights to optimize campaigns and improve ROI
- Champion a digital-first approach and multi-cultural lens across all work
- Develop and manage marketing best practices and KPIs to measure the effectiveness and inform future strategies
- Report on the competitive brand landscape and keep a pulse on the policy and business landscape to inform team
- Ensure optimized vendor relationships for creative, media and website
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including leaders across local state, growth, policy, product, consumer marketing, strategic insights and communications teams, to inform and align B2B marketing strategies
- Lead the B2B marketing team through coaching, developing and training opportunities

Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of marketing experience
- 5+ years of experience in B2B influence and/or content marketing, preferably in the healthcare or Medicaid sector
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Clinical, Quality, Growth, Legal, Creative, Digital, and Advocacy teams
- Experience with marketing tools and technologies, such as Adobe suite, and ability to adapt to new platforms and systems
- Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to measure and optimize marketing efforts
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $132,200 to $226,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
