The Infrastructure Architect provides strategic and tactical assessments addressing business capability needs via infrastructure solutions facilitated by research, design, and implementation support. The position collaborates with multiple disciplines across the IT spectrum providing consultation and leadership while influencing design, standards, and policies governing infrastructure systems. This individual will determine standards and configurational best practices for hardware and software within physical and virtual environments.
Job involves a high degree of complexity. Duties are performed independently with minimal supervision and work is verified sometimes by results. Decisions are made within established departmental guidelines. Position has high visibility due to directly impacting teams and business workflow, service delivery and relationships with teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assessment of business capability requests to determine current and future infrastructure needs Works with end users to improve business and system capabilities
- Works with and coordinates appropriate IS staff to implement solutions which will meet or exceed customer expectations
- Facilitation of communicating complex infrastructure concepts at multiple levels across the business partner landscape effectively driving communication across all levels of the organization (both upward and downward) providing appropriate message, the right tone and the appropriate level of impact consensus builder and brings people and teams together
- Accountable for clear understanding of mission and goals for role and department facilitating
- Translates initiatives into actions through a thoughtful, organized and well-planned approach.
- Establishes measurement criteria and systems to track daily processes, implementation of new initiatives and value creation
- Generate initial and refined system estimations based on high-level business requirements aligning them with current and future state architectural specifications
- Identifies fundamental architectural patterns facilitating upgrades and replacement of core IS infrastructure such as domain controllers, virtualized environments, backup solutions, file servers and core storage systems
- Determines problems and develops appropriate solutions towards problem resolution
- Provides high-level technical consulting services to all server & storage support, desktop support, network support and telecommunications teams initiatives calming tense situations by bringing clarity and organization to the forefront.
- Recognizes problems and can make recommendations/decisions on the best course of action to remediate proving resourceful solutions using existing or available resources based on knowledge of the organization and level of execution effort
- Ensures each level of the organization has the information needed and the context needed to produce favorable results.
- Builds solid relationships with IT operational leaders to ensure connectivity to the business
- Develops design and support documentation facilitating maintenance and specific problem resolution
- Help define acceptance test objectives, test cases and assist in system and integration testing Leads, collaborates, and assists the successful completion of IT Infrastructure
- Coordinates users, internal IT resources and external vendors as needed on application and hardware upgrades or installations
- Collaborates on test, application, hardware and systems planning as needed
- Responds accordingly toward resolving infrastructure and systems incidents identified via Support Desks (including data, desktop and telecommunications issues)
- Takes the lead on best practices, policies and operating procedures and ensures alignment to departmental objectives and strategy

- Establishes measurement criteria and systems to track daily processes, implementation of new initiatives and value creation
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college
- 7+ years of experience in the field or related area
- Experience with various versions of Microsoft Applications and implementation
- Proven expert level skills for designing and managing enterprise High Availability Microsoft Solutions such as WLBS and clustering
- Proven expert level skills building and managing VMware vSphere clusters
- Proven expert level skills managing enterprise Microsoft Active Directory environment with multiple domains
- Proven expert level skills managing and configuring Microsoft domain services such as DNS, DHCP, replication, certificate authority, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification requiring formal education beyond a two-year college
- 10+ years of experience designing and troubleshooting server, storage, network, and desktop issues
- Experience with public cloud offerings such as GCP, Azure and AWS
