As a Principal UX AI Strategist, you will lead the strategic integration of human-centered design into AI-driven initiatives across the provider experience. Acting as a critical bridge between technical capabilities and user needs, you will ensure that automation, intelligence, and innovation enhance – rather than complicate – the healthcare journey.
You will also be responsible for identifying high-impact AI use cases aligned with business goals, shaping the Provider Operations AI roadmap, and advising senior leadership on responsible implementation. A key focus will be driving adoption and value creation through go-to-market strategies, change management, and seamless integration of AI/ML products. As a Principal Design Strategist, you will develop the design strategy for multiple initiatives. You will work with other designers, researchers and content strategists to develop and translate the product strategy into a compelling design vision.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Define and evolve the long-term UX strategy for AI initiatives, capabilities and products across Provider Operations
- Translate business and user needs into actionable AI UX principles and roadmaps
- Partner with AI product owners, data scientists, engineers, designers, researchers, and business stakeholders to align AI capabilities with user needs and organizational goals
- Translate complex AI concepts into intuitive, ethical, and scalable user experiences
- Lead the creation of experience frameworks, service blueprints, and journey maps for AI integration across touchpoints
- Identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities where AI can improve usability, efficiency, and satisfaction
- Facilitate workshops and co-creation sessions to align teams around shared goals and user insights
- Create frameworks, toolkits, and ways of working to influence team processes
- Navigate ambiguity to help teams reach clarity, alignment, and actionable paths forward
- Clearly explain AI UX concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives
- Understand emerging UX patterns for generative AI, conversational AI, recommendation systems, and predictive analytics
- Serve as a UX ambassador in governance forums, AI councils, and vendor engagements
- Collaborate with UX researchers to define learning agendas and synthesize insights that inform AI design decisions
- Interpret analytics, voice of the customer, consumer research, market feedback, and site rankings to inform design
- Support product strategy, information architecture, and user research for experience requirements gathering
- Support vendor and partnership evaluation by clearly defining service user needs over time
- Conduct market, trend, and competitive research to guide project direction
- Contribute to the evolution of UX strategy practices and AI design standards across the enterprise

Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in service design, user research, design strategy, human-centered design, or design thinking tools and methods
- Experience creating personas, experience maps, and wireframes informed by research
- Experience with prominent industry design tools (Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Axure)
- Experience with AI tools such as Copilot for Microsoft 365, ChatGPT, Perplexity etc.
- Deep understanding and proven ability to act strategically on how AI can be applied to solve complex business problems
- Solid understanding of AI technologies, machine learning algorithms, and data infrastructure
- Proven solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with a user-centered approach to design
- Legally authorized to work in the US without any restrictions. Proof will be required
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years focused on AI, data-driven, or intelligent systems
- Experience collaborating with data scientists and ML engineers to integrate AI into products by aligning technical innovation with business goals to deliver impactful AI products
- Experience designing AI/ML-enabled products and understanding the full AI lifecycle (data sourcing, model training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring)
- Proven success driving change and innovation in large, complex healthcare, technology or professional service organizations
- Proven ability to define AI UX strategy roadmaps aligned to business value
- Demonstrated success in change management and influencing adoption of new technology
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
- Demonstrated ability to manage resources, foster collaboration, and guide teams through all phases of initiatives – from scoping to delivery
- Proven ability to lead initiatives, build credibility with stakeholders (including C-suite), and tackle challenges hands-on. Solid executive communication skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with enthusiasm for building from the ground up
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, learning quickly, and adapting to evolving priorities
- Strategic and systems thinker who understands the broader impact of design decisions

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
