This Product Commercialization Manager role will be responsible for activating Optum Rx products into the client base by managing a commercialization pipeline and tracking outreach efforts to in-scope clients. The role blends product development expertise with client-facing engagement, requiring the ability to pitch products, interpret market feedback, and collaborate across teams to drive adoption. The individual will work closely with Sales, Account Management, Clinical, Marketing, and other functional partners to ensure products are positioned effectively and meet client needs.

 

This role is expected to be self-directed, while partnering effectively with operations, IT, marketing, finance, sales, reporting, and other functional areas to lead or support cross-functional initiatives that drive product uptake. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of product lifecycle management and commercialization strategy, along with the ability to interpret data and communicate insights.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the commercialization pipeline for assigned products, including tracking outreach and conversion metrics
  • Engage directly with account management and clients to present product overviews and value propositions, pulling in subject matter experts as needed
  • Serve as a key liaison between product teams and client-facing teams to ensure alignment on product positioning and activation strategy
  • Collect and synthesize market feedback to inform product refinement and strategy
  • Support documentation and standards for commercialization processes to ensure consistency and efficiency
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Sales, Account Management, Clinical, Marketing, and other teams to support product activation
  • Lead or support cross-functional initiatives that drive product adoption and client satisfaction
  • Interpret and present data from Power BI dashboards and other reporting tools to inform strategy and performance
  • Support sales and account management for key client activities
  • Understand market and consumer needs, as well as the competitive landscape
  • Develop a point of view and advocate for it through all levels of the organization, including directly to senior leadership
  • Navigate ambiguity with ease

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a “non-technical” product management, product development, or product commercialization role
  • Experience engaging directly with clients and pitching product solutions
  • Experience achieving goals in a matrix environment, working collaboratively, and cross-functionally with peer groups and internal/external business partners
  • Experience developing and delivering formal presentations, effectively communicating and influencing at all levels of an organization
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Health Care industry experience
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturer, pharmacy and/or PBM experience
  • Consulting experience: management or product-specific
  • Experience with Power BI for dashboard creation and/or data interpretation
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools for tracking client outreach and/or engagement
  • Experience as an account manager or similar client facing sales role
  • Experience with non-diabetic GLP-1’s

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
