This role offers the opportunity to build foundational skills in procurement. The position acts as a liaison between UHG businesses and suppliers to meet organizational needs while driving value. Participants in the Rotational Development Program will develop skills through various rotations, providing consultation to UHG businesses in areas including, but not limited to: sourcing strategy, risk mitigation, contract negotiation, benchmarking, standardization, market analysis, and industry best practices.

 

This position follows a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week and residency within a commutable distance to Eden Prairie, MN

This two-year, full-time rotational development program offers a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure and foundational knowledge within a complex, enterprise-level procurement organization. Key program elements include:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Gain proficiency in sourcing and procurement functions through multiple rotations combining hands-on experience, learning, and networking
  • Assess and interpret customer needs and business requirements
  • Support cost reduction and value maximization initiatives by evaluating market opportunities, vendor consolidation, value analysis, negotiation strategies, and contract optimization
  • Learn core operations associated with sourcing and purchasing processes, including proprietary systems, purchase-to-pay processes, contract repository management, and supplier performance review
  • Understand how to assess and mitigate supplier risk, with a focus on data-related risks
  • Develop skills in data analytics and tools to manage and interpret large data sets
  • Deliver and validate savings while maintaining and improving service quality
  • Recommend data-driven solutions to improve business efficiency and processes, where applicable

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations, or a related field
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and workload
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $48,700 to $87,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
