About the Role:

The Senior Data Insights Analyst will be responsible for identifying and developing data analytics and data strategy solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with various business and data analytics teams, have proven experience in data modeling, data and insights analysis, and the ability to manage multiple competing projects at one time. 

Working Schedule:

This is a full-time position with standard working hours of Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin or Letterkenny office and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.

Primary Responsibilities:  

  • Design and develop data queries and programs through SQL and/or Python to create models to build compelling stories and drive insights around key drivers of health care trends (i.e., medical cost, utilisation, etc.) 
  • Lead cross functional projects or team initiatives 
  • Design and maintain user-friendly dashboards that interpret and visualize clinical data from diverse sources, delivering actionable and tailored analytical insights 
  • Present analysis clearly and consistently using various BI tools
  • Drive measurable business impact by ensuring data solutions and insights directly inform strategic decisions and contribute to improved organisational performance and outcomes 
  • Proactively identify processes that help in scaling key insight work for stakeholders 
  • Provide ongoing, meaningful, communications to leadership on project status, results and conclusions from analyses
  • Evaluate gaps in processes and opportunities for automation

Required Qualifications of a Senior Data Insights Analyst: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (data science, analytics, mathematics, economics, business, statistics, engineering, or finance) or equivalent experience
  • Experience in an analytical role requiring data interrogation, analysis and visualisation
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in analytic tools such as Python and/or SQL 
  • Experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Looker, or similar 

Preferred Qualifications of a Senior Data Insights Analyst: 

  • Advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related quantitative discipline
  • Experience programming statistical models, demonstrate understanding of different statistical methods and approaches
  • Proficiency in Machine Learning and AI models and algorithms
  • Experience in Snowflake

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and translate complex concepts into practical solutions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including presenting to non-technical audiences, provision of technical specification documentation, e.g., presenting a data model to the report team, building a data dictionary 
  • Ability to work successfully in an ever-changing, priority driven environment. Strong people skills, proven ability to work with and present effectively to various levels of leadership
