The Office Clerk plays a vital role in supporting clinical operations through timely and accurate handling of documentation and communications. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and flexibility in scheduling.

This position is full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:30am – 5:00pm PST Tues – Sat, or a 10-hour shift 6:30am – 5:00pm PST Wed – Sat. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer 2-4 weeks of paid training. The hours of training will be Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm PST.

                                                 

Primary Responsibilities:

Failed Fax Management:

  • Review failed faxes, identify failure reasons, and reprocess as needed

Correspondence & Mail Handling:

  • Print and package member and provider prior authorization letters
  • Deliver member and provider letters to UPS and USPS office

Member & Provider Communication:

  • Make outbound calls to members to provide verbal notification of expedited approvals
  • Submit faxed requests to home health providers to obtain signed NOMNC (Notice of Medicare Non-Coverage) forms

Inbox Monitoring:

  • Monitor the department inbox and process incoming emails appropriately

Reporting:

  • Curo High Risk Log: Monitor and track requests that are at risk of missing deadlines to ensure timely follow-up and resolution
  • TAT Pending NOD Detail Report: Research cases with completed decisions that are pending member verbal notifications or letter confirmations, ensuring timely and compliant communication

Additional Expectations:

  • Partner with intake and clinical for various reasons such as missing letters or missed turnaround times
  • Maintaining compliance with turnaround times based on member’s product, the type of request and the specific regulatory agency
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Experience using a computer and Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word (create correspondence and work within templates), Microsoft Excel (data entry, sort / filter, and work within tables), and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Ability to type 30+ WPM
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as multiple monitors, copier, fax and printer
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week including a Saturday shift. Training will be 2-4 weeks and will be hosted Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm PST. Shift options after training will be Tuesday – Saturday 8:30am – 5:00pm PST or Wednesday – Saturday 6:30am – 5:00pm PST

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 – $24.23 per hour based on full-time employment.
