In this role, as a Health and Occupational Safety Clinical Administrator for OptumRX, you will ensure compliance with internal policies, clinical guidelines, and regulatory standards, while interpreting laboratory, clinical, and medical reports to support informed decision-making. You’ll also assist in developing and implementing departmental workflows and job aids, demonstrate an understanding of how clinical decisions impact the business, and educate others on procedures, criteria, and evolving regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge of applicable occupational health regulatory requirements (local, state, OSHA, HIPPA, CDC, JCAHO, CMS, etc.)
- Evaluate occupational health programs and services against accreditation standards and contractual requirements
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing functions within the occupational health space
- Provides explanations and information to others on topics within area of expertise of public and occupational health matters to internal or external customers
- Assist with preparedness for external audits, risk mitigation for potential OSHA complaints and coordinate associated reporting and communications
- Review detailed clinical information, analyze and interpret clinical documentation, determine relevance, and make clinically sound conclusions
- Present findings of clinical or other reviews to relevant parties and/or send summary information to others for review ; Develop action plans based on clinical review/findings/audits
- Identify and consider appropriate options to mitigate issues related to quality, safety or affordability when they are identified, and escalates to ensure optimal outcomes, as needed
- Utilize evidence-based guidelines (e.g., medical necessity guidelines, practice standards, industry standards, best practices, and contractual requirements) to make clinical decisions, improve clinical outcomes and achieve business results
- Assist with reporting duties including but not limited to data definitions, data quality review, production of reports, distribution of reports, and other reporting responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in occupational or public health
- 2+ years of experience within a matrix organization in healthcare
- Advanced experience using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint
- Driver’s License and access to a reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Nurse Practitioner with occupational or public health experience
- Expert Experience with Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, v look ups, filtering, sorting, creating/editing spreadsheets, graphs, charts
- Solid communication skills, written and verbal

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
