Primary Responsibilities:

  • GST Compliance & Strategy
    • Responsible for all GST-related matters including registration, return filing, reconciliation, and audits
    • Ensure timely and accurate filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C
    • Handle departmental notices, assessments, and litigation under GST laws
    • Monitor changes in GST laws and ensure organizational compliance
    • Liaise with external consultants and government authorities for GST-related issues
    • Conduct periodic reviews and report non-compliance risks to senior management
    • Train internal teams on GST processes and updates
  • GST Refunds
    • Manage end-to-end GST refund processes including documentation, filing, and follow-ups
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to resolve refund-related queries
    • Track refund status and ensure compliance with timelines and regulatory requirements
    • Handle audits and queries from GST authorities related to refunds
  • SEZ Operations & Compliance
    • Coordinate with Development Commissioners and SEZ authorities for regulatory filings and audits
    • Ensure accurate filing of Softex forms, APRs, and other SEZ-related returns
  • Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Collaborate with internal teams including Finance, Legal, Procurement, and IT to ensure seamless tax operations and compliance
    • Partner with business units to assess tax implications of new projects, contracts, and transactions
    • Provide guidance and training to cross-functional teams on GST and SEZ-related matters
    • Work with ERP/SAP teams to implement and optimize tax modules and automation
    • Act as a key point of contact for senior leadership on indirect tax strategy, risks, and opportunities
    • Engage with external consultants, auditors, and government authorities to resolve complex tax issues
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • CA / LLB or equivalent professional degree
  • Experience in handling audits, assessments, litigation, and refund processes
  • Solid understanding of GST laws and SEZ regulations
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (PeopleSoft preferred), MS Excel etc.
