The Data Engineering Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data systems and solutions that support analytics, reporting, and operational data needs. This includes building scalable data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and enabling business intelligence through robust engineering practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Talend, Informatica, or native cloud services
- Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems
- Optimize data workflows for performance and scalability
- Implement data governance and security protocols in compliance with enterprise standards
- Support data modeling and architecture efforts for analytics platforms
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in production and development environments
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data services
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell)
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift)
- Solid understanding of data integration and transformation techniques
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics
- Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop)
- Exposure to Agile development and DevOps practices
