The Medicaid Marketing Manager will support the Community & State (C&S) Medicaid Growth Marketing team in planning, coordinating, and executing marketing strategies and campaigns for assigned markets. This role collaborates with peers on creative development, compliance, and translations, as well as with local health plans and growth teams to ensure marketing activities align with health plan objectives and organizational growth goals.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the marketing and communication function in support of the broader organization including but not limited to:
  • Develop and execute multichannel and omnichannel campaign strategies aligned with budgets and business goals
  • Manage marketing projects from initiation through deployment and performance reporting
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables from internal teams and external partners that align with marketing objectives and communication strategies
  • Provide input on forecasting and planning for marketing activities
  • Analyze and report campaign results using relevant metrics; develop strategies to optimize future performance against business objectives and growth drivers
  • Stay current on marketing and communication trends and best practices
  • Adhere to internal and external communication standards
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders to inform marketing efforts and enhance understanding of consumer experience and local markets
  • Partner with internal teams (creative, compliance, project management, member materials) to drive alignment and support for marketing initiatives
  • Foster relationships across Optum, UHC, and UHG teams to ensure integrated marketing and communication efforts
  • Manage agencies and vendors effectively
  • Deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines with solid attention to detail
  • Oversee campaign budget management and tracking
  • Demonstrate and promote UHG corporate values and ethics

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing and/or communications within a matrix organization
  • 5+ years working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • 2+ years project management experience
  • Experience in campaign reporting and performance analysis
  • Experience partnering with internal creative teams and managing external vendors/agencies
  • Experience with Adobe WorkFront
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics reports
  • Project management experience 
  • Expertise in digital marketing channels, including social media, search, display, and email
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables simultaneously
  • Proven solid organizational skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding marketing targets
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across teams
  • Demonstrated solid interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to ambiguity and changing priorities
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to interpret data and communicate outcomes effectively
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multicultural marketing experience
  • Experience in healthcare, Medicaid/Medicare or other highly regulated industry
  • Experience in sales

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $89,900 to $160,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
