UX Design Architect (UX UI Designer, Figma)

As a senior designer, you will play a pivotal role in elevating the quality and consistency of the Specialty Provider digital experience. The Specialty Provider experience allows providers to have real-time visibility through every step of the order management process, self-service prescriptions that require provider action, and have two-way communication with the pharmacy. You will be responsible for delivering design artifacts for features across the Optum portfolio and function as the subject matter expert in this space.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with product management, other designers, data and analytics and engineering in discovery or requirements gathering sessions
- Translates partner goals into multiple creative solutions
- Designs experiences based on analytics, user research and best practices
- Embraces feedback as part of the creative process
- Learns and work within established brand guidelines and the design pattern library
- Provides final layout, font, colors, padding/spacing rules that align with the Optum brand. Sources images, icons or videos needed to design and complete the work
- When presenting, clearly articulates the problem being solved, how the user accesses the experience and how they progress through it
- Manages timelines, milestones and internal processes on feature work to ensure timely delivery
- Serves as the subject matter expert on the project across the different portals, surfaces and channels
- Partners with the research team to prep and build prototypes for user testing
- Serves as a mentor to other designers
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience designing web responsive experiences
- 3+ years of experience designing in Figma and the ability to create a prototype to deo the experience
- Expert-level understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and usability best practices, including design pattern libraries and design documentation
- Proficient in using Figma to document designs and create prototypes
- Proven excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality user experiences
Preferred Qualification:
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and best practices
