Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive client-facing reports leveraging Power BI to provide actionable insights, facilitate informed decision-making, and ensure alignment with customer requirements and project objectives
  • Collaborate with Customers and Finance partners to understand and represent specific and quantifiable financial, cost saving and revenue generating information for migration work. Provide required details and documentation to Finance for inclusion in annual DCIO/CIOP cost management/takeout MBO’s
  • Drive, lead, plan and execute extremely fluid and complex Data center migration projects managing multiple critical path deliverables with multiple teams simultaneously
  • Meet customer and project objectives by developing and leading project execution functions including planning, tracking, reporting, reviews, quality management and communications, risks and issues
  • Predict, understand, and document customer needs and work with technologists to design solutions to meet them
  • Manage project schedules, resources, and delivery commitments
  • Delegate, integrate activities, and resolve conflicts
  • Complete assigned projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure and resource cost estimates
  • Responsible for keeping project information consolidated, organized and up to date
  • Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • Provide leadership in steering initiatives toward defined standard infrastructure solutions, platforms and best practices to achieve optimal requirements
  • Proactive issue identification and resolution.  Serve as an escalation point for complex issues, problems and solutions. Support and assist teams to remove roadblocks, identify alternative options and resolve conflicts
  • Influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches when appropriate
  • Engage, collaborate and present regularly with executive project sponsors and senior technology leadership
  • Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • Collaborate with leads and help drive improvement opportunities that drive business and technology value
  • Continually seek, recommend and lead opportunities outside of daily job responsibilities to adopt new services, improve customer experience, identify delivery process improvements, implement efficiencies, support a one-team culture, delivery solutions, processes and performance, within DCIO/Data Center Migration team and across other Optum Technology teams
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience      
  • 12+ years of Delivery Manager / Project Manager experience integrating and migrating multiple business areas or systems to Optum Datacenter offerings including public and private cloud solutions
  • 8+ years of experience across multiple information systems disciplines demonstrating strong technical acumen and infrastructure technology experience
  • 6+ years of Datacenter infrastructure and Technology-based Program Delivery experience at a large enterprise
  • Experience overseeing multiple, concurrent and complex IT initiatives
  • Experience with budget tracking and complex cost benefit analysis
  • Knowledge and exposure to GenAI tools to help drive project management and reporting efficiencies
  • Familiarity with AI user personas and ability to apply them in project planning, risk assessments, and communication. Identify opportunities to embed AI into project processes to enhance efficiency, predict risks, and automate routine tasks
  • Proficiency in computer software including MS Project, Power Point, Excel
  • Proficiency in utilizing Smartsheet for the development of robust data repositories and the design of dynamic reporting dashboards to support business objectives and enhance project transparency
  • Proven solid planning skills including experience in successfully leading major projects and programs with use of and adherence to structured methodologies
  • Proven ability to display a high degree of professional confidence and credibility with presence and communication skills to effectively represent IT-related concepts with executive-level management. Organize presentation’s timing, purpose, key points, and approach to be engaging, focused, and relevant
  • Proven high degree of professional confidence and credibility with the presence and communication skills to represent IT-related concepts effectively with executive-level management
  • Proven ability to work with a sense of urgency and ability to use considerable judgment to determine solutions, necessary escalations and to seek guidance on complex problems

  • Proven ability to perform in a high-pressure environment, multi-task and balance priorities
  • Proven solid leadership presence and ability to work with a cross functional agile delivery team
  • Demonstrated ability to use GenAI tools to improve productivity, streamline project workflows, and support data informed decision making.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agile methodology and delivery experience
  • UnitedHealth Group or subsidiary work experience
  • Professional Services, consulting, or Project management experience
  • Experience using productivity tools including Rally, and ServiceNow
  • Infrastructure technology experience such as server, network, security and data center infrastructure, for application, middleware, database and web environments
  • Healthcare technology background is a strong plus
  • Proficient in Power Bi and Smartsheet
