Looking for a healthcare data integration professional with 7-8 years of experience in configuring, analyzing, and managing clinical data across multiple systems. The candidate should have strong hands‑on experience with SQL, Snowflake, InterSystems IRIS, and healthcare interoperability standards including HL7, FHIR, Flat files and CCD/CDA formats. The role requires working with structured/unstructured clinical data, onboarding data submitters, performing deep data analysis, transforming data, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • SQL / Data Processing:
    • Solid proficiency in SQL to be able to write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries
    • Develop and optimize stored procedures, views, functions, and database objects in support of data onboarding and validation processes
    • Analyze raw clinical data from various sources, including flat files, CCDs, HL7 messages, and FHIR resources
    • Perform data normalization, transformation, mapping, and quality checks
    • Identify and fix data quality issues and optimize query performance
    • Perform data manipulations, load/extract operations across schemas and environments
    • Support development of automated routines for ingestion of CCDs and flat files
    • Participate in performance tuning of existing SQL scripts and data workflows
    • Translate business and clinical requirements into technical specifications and SQL logic
    • Build SQL logic to support onboarding workflows, submitter validations, and data mapping rules
  • Configuration and Integration:
    • Configure and maintain data ingestion pipelines and integration processes within Snowflake and InterSystems IRIS
    • Work with CCD/CDA XML structures, HL7 v2x messages, and FHIR JSON/XML resources for parsing, validation, and data extraction
    • Engage in submitter onboarding processes: receiving, validating, and integrating clinical data feeds
    • Execute end‑to‑end onboarding tasks including connectivity setup, file validation, data quality evaluation, troubleshooting, and documentation
    • Implement internal process improvements to automate manual workflows and optimize data delivery
  • Healthcare Data Standards and Compliance:
    • Interpret and validate clinical data using HL7, CCD/CDA, FHIR, and healthcare code sets (ICD, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED)
    • Ensure data processing workflows comply with HIPAA, PHI handling standards, and organizational data security guidelines
    • Maintain accurate and complete technical and configuration documentation
  • Analysis and Collaboration:
    • Perform deep data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, or integration issues
    • Collaborate with clinical SMEs, product teams, engineers, and submitters to resolve data discrepancies
    • Provide consultative support on data formats, transformation rules, and integration logic
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives, configuration enhancements, and system upgrades
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

  • Hands‑on experience with Snowflake and InterSystems IRIS
  • Experience working with HL7, CCDAs, FHIR standards
  • Experience with clinical data file formats: flat files (CSV, pipe‑delimited), XML, JSON, CCDs
  • Experience in configuring data ingestion workflows, ETL/ELT processes, and automated pipelines
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum tools (e.g., Rally)
  • Solid knowledge of SQL Server or other relational databases
  • Solid understanding of US Healthcare & Healthcare IT and HEDIS measures
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, PHI security, and healthcare compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in MS Office for documentation and analysis
  • Proven solid analytical and problem solving skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
  • Experience with JSON, JSON‑LD, XML transformations
  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Power BI) for validating and visualizing integration outputs
  • Knowledge of additional healthcare standards (X12, NCPDP, etc.)
