Data Engineering Consultant – SQL Server DBA

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
• Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations
• Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
• Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement
• Provide support for critical production systems
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

• B. Tech / M. Tech / MCA, or equivalent work experience, with 4+ years of experience
• 6+ years of experience as an SQL Server DBA on version 2014 onwards
• 4+ years of experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• 4+ years of experience with backups, restores, and recovery models
• Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations
• Experience analyzing systems and identify problems, evaluate, design solutions, and document
• Experience in conducting demos for leadership and stake holders
• Agile Experience – Adept at working in Agile methodologies
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
• Proven critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Proven team player with good time-management skills
• Proven great interpersonal and communication skills
• Proven ability to work both independently and as a team member

Preferred Qualifications:

• MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications
• Cloud DBA experience
• Knowledge or experience with older version of SQL Server
