Optum is seeking a driven leader to fill the role of Procurement Analyst to support a client based in Marin County, CA. The Procurement Analyst will be on the team supporting our client serving by sourcing and procuring critical supplies in a timely, high-quality manner.  The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and managing diverse strategic supplier partnerships that drive enterprise value with innovation, best cost and competitive advantages that benefit customers, pharma manufacturers and patients. The Procurement Analyst will leverage procurement data and other technology solutions to improve process efficiency and business decision making.  

The Procurement Analyst will ensure that the products and materials are ordered and in stock to meet company requirements, while maintaining acceptable inventory levels. They will create competitive advantage by leveraging data and technology solutions for supplier selection and management, purchase order creation, and adherence to contract terms and conditions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and generate purchase orders daily to the client’s suppliers to assure service levels are maintained 
  • Develop strategies that maximize operational efficiencies and cost effectiveness of the entire supply chain 
  • Ensure that all sourcing and procurement activities support and are aligned with the client’s supply chain strategies 
  • Drive supplier consolidation and leverage spend across the enterprise 
  • Establish inventory parameters for items being purchased to assure service levels are maintained and balanced with inventory turnover metrics 
  • Plan, manage, and track projects to assure clinical utilization rates are maintained throughout 
  • Communicate complex information so that it is easy to understand and influences others to take action based on the useful information provided 
  • Support/manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Negotiate products/services and pricing 
  • Procure-to-pay 
  • Drive execution of contract terms and conditions 
  • Manage administrative processes timely to assure they support the activities above

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of supply chain procurement work experience 
  • Experience successfully executing core procurement functions, including—but not limited to— managing competitive bidding/vendor selection process, req-to-PO management, order management, invoice processing/management—approval and audit, and vendor management
  • Solid MS Office work experience 
  • Knowledge of inventory policies, and practices and systems 
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational, project management and communication (written and verbal) skills 
  • Ability to work a hybrid on-site work schedule (minimum of two days in office location Tue – Thurs: Novato, CA) 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of healthcare supply chain procurement work experience  
  • Previous experience utilizing Workday procure-to-pay and contracting ERP modules (or similar procurement systems) 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • General Distribution and Warehousing environment demands

California Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $48,300 to $94,500 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
