Primary Responsibilities :

  • Defining and implementing technical strategies and roadmaps in alignment with the company’s objectives
  • Leading and managing multiple software engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Overseeing the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software products and services
  • Collaborating with product management, design, and other stakeholders to ensure successful product releases
  • Ensuring adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment, and maintaining high standards of software quality
  • Managing the software engineering department’s budget, resource allocation, and project prioritization
  • Mentoring and developing team members, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation
  • Staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate into the organization’s practices
  • Facilitating communication and collaboration within the engineering team and across departments to achieve business goals
  • Driving the resolution of technical challenges and leading efforts to improve engineering processes
  • Establishing metrics and monitoring systems to track performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and addressing security concerns throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience (4 Year degree in a field like computer science or information technology)
  • 18+ years of experience with at least 5+ years of experience working as an architect with expertise in building and shipping production enabled software in a scaled distributed environment
  • Experience: 18+ years with 5+ years as Engineering Manager
  • Expertise implementing microservices
  • Knowledge of a variety of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Node, Python)
  • Proven excellent programming skills with Java and related frameworks like Spring Boot, Hibernate, Rest Assured & ActiveMQ
  • Knowledge of UI based technologies preferably with Angular
  • Knowledge of a variety of modern open-source technologies (Kafka, AVRO, Prometheus, ELK, Kubernetes,)
  • Knowledge of a variety of modern database technologies with experience in both RDBMS and NoSQL Implementations
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Deployment Strategies
  • Expertise with RESTful Web Services
  • Expertise with Git version control
  • Proven excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical colleagues.
  • Expertise in container virtualization utilizing Docker and CICD using Jenkins, Gitlab or CircleCI
  • Expertise in public cloud architecture and platform solutions
  • Ability to lead and develop people
  • Programming Languages:
    • Java, Azure
    • Optional: Python, Go, Node, Groovy etc.
  • Design Patterns:
    • Microservices
    •  Public cloud implementations with Azure, AWS or GCP is preferred
  • Database:
    • RDBMS
    •  NoSQL – Exposure to one or more NoSQL solutions like MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Aerospike, Elastic Search, Redis, neo4j etc.
  • DevOps
    • CI/CD and release automation
    • Tools: Jenkins, Gitlab, CirlceCI or any other tool in similar category
    • Infrastructure as a code
    • Containerization: Docker, Openshift, Kubernetes or Cloud container platforms
    • Monitoring: DataDog, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana
    • Build Tools: Maven, Gradle
  • UI
    • Exposure to UI development
    • Knowledge of Angular or React is plus
  • Experience in Scrum Framework
