This Director of InterQual Interoperability will be responsible for bringing to market a new suite of capabilities that will help payers meet regulatory requirements related to prior authorization and the solicitation and delivery of required documentation with providers in interoperable formats. The Director will collaborate with key stakeholders (e.g., technical product management, engineering, finance, client-facing services teams, Optum leadership) to drive the development of solutions that address our clients’ top priorities. They will design a go-to-market strategy anchored on enabling our clients to achieve outcomes, and partner with cross-functional leadership to build and deploy capabilities that enable us to develop and innovate best in class Decision Support technology and services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for full product lifecycle management, including strategy, design, development, and management of InterQual prior authorization solutions
  • Accountable for delivering product performance against expectations and updates to a product portfolio to improve competitive position, and optimal product performance to meet customer market needs
  • Provides leadership, management, coaching, and/or mentoring to business unit Product team
  • Prioritize product roadmap initiatives using data-driven and customer centric approach
  • Work with engineering architects and Product Managers to define requirements, initiate development projects, and assist in determining the best implementation methods
  • Support sales, marketing, and business development teams as subject matter expert through participation in customer and partner calls and marketing activities

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • 3+ years of utilization management or prior authorization experience
  • 3+ years of interoperability experience
  • Willing and able to travel up to 10% nationally

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to drive alignment in matrixed organization
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple/detail-oriented tasks 
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization 
  • Experience working with and developing technical integration with external partners 
  • Experience building, leading, and managing cross-functional initiatives, including a deep understanding of how to structure initiatives and all related operational functions
  • Proven ability to lead product discovery work as well as to boil down market findings into new product/enhancement ideas

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
