Long Term Disability Claims Specialist – National Remote

This position is full-time, Monday – Friday. Employees are required to work during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.
We offer 3-5 weeks of paid training. The hours of training will be based on your schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Providing expertise or general claims support to teams in reviewing, researching, investigating, negotiating, processing, and adjudicating Long Term Disability claims
- Communicating ongoing status and decisions both in writing and verbally
- Authorizes the appropriate payment or refers claims to Team Lead or Manager for validation of adverse or over limit approvals

- High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 1+ years of experience reviewing and rendering initial liability determinations on Long Term Disability claims
- 1+ years of experience issuing monthly payments on Long Term Disability claims
- Experience with Microsoft Word (ability to create, modify and send documents)
- Experience with Microsoft Excel (ability to create, modify and send spreadsheets)
- Ability to work Monday – Friday, during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm, including the flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends, based on the business need
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
