The California Health Plan Compliance Training team is responsible for management and oversight of health plan mandated training for clinicians, team members and contracted partners, thereby ensuring the market is in compliance with complex requirements. The key priorities for the team are determining training requirements, designing curriculum of training content, driving implementation of customer-friendly training programs, and monitoring completion and facilitating audit readiness.

The Instructional Designer, Health Plan Compliance Training, is responsible for developing training content in partnership with SMEs, program management of components of the overall training portfolio, and liaising with internal stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary content creator, collaborating with subject matter experts to create customer-friendly training content
  • Assist training manager in development of comprehensive curriculum of health plan delegated training
  • Create, deliver, and facilitate reporting for all required training participants
  • Serve as SME for training platforms
  • Create attestation process and work with internal stakeholders to create training reports
  • Work with partners in the organization to identify new hires and new contracted clinicians on an on-going basis, and drive plan to enroll in training content.
  • Periodically update training documentation/training courses on multiple platforms

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Healthcare Administration, Instructional Design, or a clinical field
  • 3+ years of experience in training content creation and management, particularly in healthcare or insurance sectors
  • Experience working with diverse audiences, including clinicians and operational staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and effective training delivery
  • Proven ability to work effectively with internal teams across the organization to ensure training alignment and consistency
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adjust training strategies and content in response to evolving regulatory requirements and organizational goals
  • Keen attention to detail in the development and updating of training documentation and courses

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree 
  • Clinical background 
  • Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning authoring tools, and multimedia software for content creation

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
