This is a senior technology leadership level position responsible for helping advance Optum’s technology objectives. You will lead the public cloud network team to develop and maintain a secure, performant, reliable, and state-of-the-art cloud network service offering across multiple cloud providers. The role requires a talented technologist with solid leadership abilities and deep expertise in both public cloud and network domains.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and evolve our cloud network services strategy, including the development of migration plans, cost optimization strategies, security protocols, and scalability measures across GCP, AWS, and Azure platforms
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive roadmap for cloud network governance, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving the implementation of solutions across GCP, AWS, and Azure
- Oversee the enforcement of corporate security policies related to cloud network services, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cloud services, providing insights and recommendations to improve efficiency across GCP, AWS, and Azure environments
- Lead the review and analysis of cloud-related budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring effective resource utilization
- Provide network architectural guidance for cloud environments, ensuring high reliability and reduced downtime across test and production systems
- Engage with senior key stakeholders, up to and including CIO level leadership, translating business needs into actionable cloud solutions
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Certifications in one of GCP, AWS, and Azure (e.g., Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role overseeing subject matter experts in cloud networking within GCP, AWS, and Azure cloud services
- Proven track record in 5+ years of experience managing and implementing solutions across multiple cloud platforms
- Foundational understanding of TCP/IP networking
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Advanced understanding of TCP/IP networking
- Proven solid leadership and communication skills, with a history of successfully driving change in cloud operations
- Proven customer-focused with a high level of motivation and the ability to absorb and retain information quickly
- Proven exceptional problem-solving skills with a mature, professional approach to work
