The Marketing Specialist II is responsible for developing, managing and executing in-clinic marketing and communications strategies and tactics. This position works closely with the Marketing Director and internal operations teams to develop and deploy in-clinic collateral and marketing strategies that support Optum Medical Care’s business targets and portal adoption. The Marketing specialist is an integral member of our marketing team and plays a key role in creating crisp, clear patient communications and working across the marketing team to coordinate message strategy. Cross-team collaboration and synergy identification is a key component of this role.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with experience creating and implementing new marketing strategies. This person should be comfortable with collaborating and communicating with business partners and leadership including operations, IT, practice managers and others to gain alignment and execute agreed upon objectives.

Candidate must be a well-organized, highly motivated, roll up your sleeves, self-starter with a passion for communicating and connecting the dots. The ideal candidate should thrive on proactively seeking new insights, finding creative solutions and measuring results.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage and execute in-clinic marketing and communications strategies and tactics
  • Ensure the accuracy, timeliness and relevance of patient-facing marketing materials, including updating compliance materials and removing outdated collateral
  • Regularly communicate with key business partners, such as operations and practice managers, and serve as the key point of contact for all aspects of in-clinic collateral
  • Manage and maintain in-clinic information centers and relevant content
  • Oversee the waiting area digital screen content/platform
  • Lead marketing efforts for patient portal communications
  • Collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams, developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders
  • Manage the marketing intake form, filter requests to appropriate team members and support assigned projects
  • Lead assigned projects from start to finish, ensuring smooth and timely delivery
  • Quickly learn and adapt to new processes
  • Continuously refine processes and seek innovative solutions
  • Understand and adapt to the Optum culture

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, advertising or related field
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • Solid writing/communications skills
  • Solid organizational skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with marketing project management systems (Workfront/Asana)  
  • Agency experience 
  • Experience working with providers and senior leadership 
  • Keen attention to detail 
  • Proven self-starter with the ability to balance and execute multiple projects concurrently

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
