The Software Engineer will have passion for clean code, a hunger to take on challenging and exciting projects as well as an unrelenting drive to learn and deliver. Qualified candidates will be required to demonstrate the full stack hands on knowledge for this position.
Working Schedule:
This is a full-time position with standard working hours of Monday – Friday, standard business hours.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Design and implement new features on OLS (Optum Life Science) products built by the OPEN team.
• Deliver and integrate features with the upstream dependencies.
• Work alongside the Product team to design and build new features.
• DevOps mindset in terms of ownership of new features from planning through to release in production.
• Operate as a member of an Engineering value stream team.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field or equivalent experience
• Practical experience of delivering high quality production software in Java with usage of SQL against any datastore
• Experience with REST APIs, Java, Spring, Microservices specifically Spring Boot, Data Stores, Containers
• Experience of operating in an Agile value stream Team and driving value via technological deliveries to meet business requirements.
• Good understanding of Microservices architecture with hands on experience of Spring Boot
• Foundational knowledge of a Cloud Provider Ecosystem (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Experience in using modern software engineering tooling (Jenkins, GHA, Sonar, Twist-Lock or alternatives etc.) and process in terms of Agile delivery in a CI/CD work environment.
Preferred Qualification:
• Some knowledge of UI development specifically Typescript/JavaScript OR a willingness to embrace and grow your knowledge in UI development to grow and support our UI Engineers.
• Experience with various software design patterns
• Excellent time management, communication, decision making, and presentation skills
• Display a strong desire to achieve and attain high levels of both internal and external customer satisfaction
• Some Knowledge of IaC(Terraform)
• Some Knowledge of CI/CD workflows e.g. GitHub Actions
