The Associate Director of Network Contracting is accountable for securing optimal compensation and contractual terms for the provider network, which includes physicians, behavioral health therapists, nurse practitioners, hospitals, pharmacies, ancillary, etc. The role involves analyzing, evaluating, and negotiating contracts in the pursuit of maximizing provider reimbursement while ensuring strategic and mutually beneficial payor partnerships. In partnership with Senior Leadership, the Associate Director of Network Contracting is a subject-matter expert on payor contracting and fee schedules as well as payor and provider relations.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Direct and participate in contract negotiations, performance reporting and associated financial modeling for payor contracting in your assigned region
  • Evaluate and negotiate the renewal of contracts with commercial and government payors in compliance with reimbursement structure standards and other key process controls
  • Evaluate and pursue opportunities for value-based care arrangements
  • Monitor contract performance for your assigned region and assist clinics with the resolution of contract- related issues
  • Function as the point of contact with regional payors, maintaining and growing strategic relationships that support the payor-provider partnership

Required Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of healthcare experience in payor strategy, contracting and network development-related role managing complex contracts with accountability for business results.
  • 2+ years of experience with utilizing financial modeling in making rate decisions. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications 
  • Working knowledge of value-based care models and reimbursement strategy
  • In-depth knowledge of Medicare Resource Based Relative Value System (RBRVS), DRGs, Ambulatory Surgery Center Groupers, etc.
  • Proven solid analytical skills, business acumen, and ability to think both strategically and tactically.
  • Proven excellent interpersonal and communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Epic and/or Athena platforms 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Smartsheet
