As a Senior Data Engineer within the E&I Affordability Data Engineering and Analytics team, you will lead the design and development of scalable, governed data solutions that power analytics, reporting, and operational insights for U.S. healthcare affordability initiatives. This role combines deep expertise in data architecture, pipeline engineering, and cloud technologies with strong software engineering fundamentals to deliver secure, high-quality data products. You will collaborate with architects, data stewards, and business teams to ensure data accuracy and accessibility, while also building AI-powered applications that drive innovation and efficiency.
Primary responsibilities of the Senior Data Engineer, E&I Affordability:

Learning the complexities of the US Healthcare system

Collaborate with business stakeholders, ideation teams and data sciences teams to refine data requirement and roadmaps

Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and create a trusted, scalable data layer for business users and downstream applications. This role focuses on enabling analytics, reporting, and operational insights by delivering high-quality, governed data solutions. You’ll collaborate with architects, data stewards, and business teams to ensure data is accurate, secure, and accessible.

Build AI solutions leveraging sound software engineering and coding fundamentals combined with your data engineering skills, delivering data driven affordability in healthcare.
Required qualifications of the Senior Data Engineer, E&I Affordability:

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
-
Ability to write efficient, maintainable code (Python preferred), sound software engineering fundamentals and systems design and architecture
-
Experience in Data modeling, data architecture and designing complex data models
-
Experience in Writing, understanding, explaining and tuning complex queries (SQL)
-
Experience in Transforming big data (PySpark or Snowpark preferred)
-
Experience in Any data workflow orchestration tool (ADF or Airflow preferred)
-
Experience in Any cloud-based data analytics platform (Azure Databricks preferred)
-
At least one RDBMS (Snowflake preferred)
-
Configuring and using version control and CI-CD processes (Git preferred)

Proven senior level experience in data engineering and designing enterprise data solutions

Understanding of data governance in a controlled environment
Preferred qualifications of the Senior Data Engineer, E&I Affordability:
-
Building real world AI powered applications and agentic AI solutions. Experience with frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph and CrewAI a big plus

Prior experience in platform engineering is a plus
-
Prior experience in data analytics and visualization
-
Experience building applications with Streamlit
-
Containerization (Kubernetes preferred)
