These positions are open to University students, from June 2026 to September 2026.  

As an Actuarial and Data Science Intern you will work within the UnitedHealthcare Affordability team. The aim of the Affordability team is to lower the cost of healthcare for our members. 

Joining our team, you will become part of a driven, focused group, compromising of Actuaries, Data Scientists, Analysts and Engineers.

Primary Responsibilities of the Actuarial and Data Science Intern: 

• Building, designing and preparing data models, tools and databases 

• Code daily and build new solutions to our business problems 

• Preparing, forecasting, and analyzing trends 

• Providing detailed summaries, reports and recommendations to assist decision making 

• Communicating with management, colleagues and stakeholders

Required Qualifications of the Actuarial and Data Science Intern:

• Secondary School (or higher) or equivalent experience 

• Exposure to one or more of the following tools: SQL, R, Python or Excel 

• Ability to work a portion of monthly work hours from our Dublin 

 Soft Skills of the Actuarial and Data Science Intern:

• Communication skills 

• Ability to quickly learn and use computer software tools effectively
