As a part time, nonexempt, Optum/CPS Solutions Staff Pharmacist, you will fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain the security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy; and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy.
About the Facility: Operated by Universal Health Services, Millwood Hospital is a 134-bed licensed facility that provides mental health and chemical dependency care to people of all ages. The facility also contains The Excel Center, a short-term, outpatient treatment alternative for adults 18 and over. Optum has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of Optum
Schedule: One weekend a month and coverage of PTO as needed.
About the Pharmacy: The Pharmacy is open Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm; Weekends & Holidays 7:30am-12:30pm.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review, verify, and dispense medication orders to ensure appropriateness, safety, and accuracy
- Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication regimens for hospitalized patients
- Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding activities, ensuring compliance with USP and hospital standards
- Monitor patient outcomes and medication safety, identifying and preventing adverse drug events
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring efficient and compliant workflow
- Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance, including Joint Commission, state, and federal requirements

Required Qualifications:
- Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy (PharmD preferred)
- Current Pharmacist license in good standing in Texas
- Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
- Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a Pharmacist in a Hospital setting
- Experience in Behavioral Health
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $44 to $79 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
