The Marketing Specialist I supports the development, execution, and optimization of external marketing communications for Optum Massachusetts practices (Atrius Health and Reliant Medical Group). This role drives patient growth and enhances brand perception through multi-channel marketing, including digital platforms, in-clinic communications, email, social media, advertising, and events.

This position collaborates closely with the Marketing Director, cross-functional marketing teams, and operational stakeholders to deliver clear, consistent, and effective patient communications aligned with business objectives. The Marketing specialist is an integral member of our marketing team and plays a key role in creating crisp, clear patient communications and working across the marketing team to coordinate messaging and brand strategy. Collaboration, adaptability, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Candidate must be a well-organized, highly motivated, roll up your sleeves, self-starter with a passion for communicating and connecting the dots. The ideal candidate should thrive on proactively seeking new insights, finding creative solutions and measuring results.

This position is full time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be based on schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute in-clinic and external marketing strategies and campaigns as assigned.
  • Create and manage patient-facing content across channels (web, email, signage, video, social, print)
  • Serve as the primary owner of in-clinic collateral, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Oversee waiting room digital signage content and platform management for all locations.
  • Support event marketing, including managing sponsorship requests and on-site event coordination.
  • Manage marketing intake processes, prioritize requests, and route projects appropriately.
  • Partner with operations, practice managers, IT, and other stakeholders to align priorities and execution.
  • Identify process improvements and implement efficient, scalable solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 3+ years of marketing, communications, or related experience
  • Experience with digital, content, and social media marketing
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work full time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with healthcare stakeholders, providers, or senior leadership
  • Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within commutable distance to the office at 275 Grove St, Auburndale, MA 2466.
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $29.00 to $52.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
